Curry says, “This is a film I wish I never had to make.” He successfully efforted to complete the inspiring story while his parents, currently in their 90s, were both living and able to see the project fulfilled. Curry furthered, “Their strength and grace through unimaginable hardship inspired every frame. I hope this film serves as a historical document, a personal reflection, and a lasting tribute to a city that has shaped not only my life but the course of American history.” There of course referencing the civil rights significance of Selma. At its heart, this is a fine film about the unending power of family and community love.
Based in Atlanta, Curry is the owner and operator of Southtown Media Productions [southtownmediaproductions.com] and has become a recognized voice in Southern storytelling. Hollywood veteran Carlos J. Ramsey joined the production as an additional editor in the latter stages, the team delivering a remarkably polished and sweeping film.
